Celebrate the Christmas season by crocheting this cute Christmas tree. This Christmas tree can be used for decoration around the house or you can put a loop in the top and hang it on your real tree. It makes a great gift for friends and family!
It is made of tiered levels, created with three sized needles to get the classic Christmas tree shape. Pattern includes instructions for tree with two optional types of snow/edging, tree skirt, Christmas lights, and tiny gifts to put under the tree.
Pattern is written in English and instructions are standard US terms.
Skill level: Beginner/Intermediate, knowledge of basic crochet stitches, working in the round, and sewing.
Finished Size: 6.5” tall, 4” diameter at widest point
Materials:
Needles: Size G-6 (4.00mm), H-8 (5.00mm), and J-10 (6.00mm) needles, which should be in a standard crochet needle set.
Yarn:
Forest Green/Dark Green for tree
Brown for trunk
White for snow (optional)
Red for tree skirt
Yellow for star
Various colors for lights and gifts.
Poly-fil Stuffing
I did this with typical medium weight yarn (Red Heart Super Savers, etc), but for things like the Christmas lights and the edging on the tree skirt, you might want to get some fine weight yarn, like the Lion Brand Yarn Bonbons set, or Lion Brand Yarn Vanna’s Glamour.
Stitches:
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
hdc = half-double crochet
dc = double crochet
sl st = slip stitch
dec = decrease
BLO = back loop only of stitch
MC = magic circle for crocheting in the round
